About the College

Three Rivers Community College is celebrating four decades of excellence and service of providing accessable, affordable and quality learning opportunities to Southeast Missouri. TRCC was founded in  Poplar Bluff in 1967 when voters in the counties of Butler, Carter, Ripley and Wayne approved the TRCC taxing district.

Three Rivers Community College serves the people of Southeast Missouri - reaching from Ozark hills to the flat Delta in Missouri's Bootheel and from the crystal clear waters of the Big Spring to the Mississippi River. Since its establishment, Three Rivers has grown with the needs of the communities in the service region. In addition to the main campus in Poplar Bluff, TRCC has in-district centers in Doniphan, Piedmont and Van Buren, and full-service center in Campbell, Kennett, Malden, Portageville and Sikeston. In addition, TRCC offers classes at sites throughout the region, including at many high schools throughout Southeast Missouri. TRCC also offers e-learning opportunities with a wide variety of courses on-line.

TRCC is governed by a Board of Trustees elected by the people in the college taxing district of Butler, Carter, Ripley and Wayne counties.

About Our Students

Three Rivers' traditional student is anything but traditional. Our students are as diverse as the communities we serve. Nearly 60 percent of Three Rivers students are female and the average age of the student body is 25.

With 43 percent of our students attending Three Rivers part-time and a large portion of those students choosing classes in the evening, we recognize that the ever-changing demands of the market require us to be able to meet the evolving needs of our local workforce. In that same vein, we also seek to provide an affordable, valuable start to a four-year degree through our growing number of transfer programs. As we strive to prepare our students to enter or re-enter either the workforce or an advanced degree program, our goal is to be a deep and valuable resource for the local community's growth and development.

About Our Academic Programs

In order to meet the diverse needs of our student body and our communities throughout the region, the College offers three different Associate Degrees in more than 40 degree and certificate programs.

About Our Faculty

TRCC's faculty are dedicated, student oriented professionals in their respective fields. Many are nationally and state recognized educators who are active in statewide professional organizations and who are also artists, authors, musicians and volunteers active in the community and region. While our faculty is accomplished and active in their fields, their commitment to student learning is their first and foremost professional priority.

Our Mission

Three Rivers Community College provides quality, accessible and affordable learning opportunities and services for academic scholarship and professional success.
