Mission Statement
Building Strong Foundations
The Three Rivers Community College Teacher Education Program is committed to providing a strong general studies curriculum integrated with coursework for the preservice teacher. The Teacher Education Program of study is fully accredited through the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) and is transferable to any Missouri college or university. The program is designed to provide the necesarry background for further professional studies and allow the student to validate education as a career choice.
Teacher Education Program Goals

To offer general studies and education courses to meet the requirements for the AAT degree approved statewide by the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.

To offer students a wide variety of courses and experiences that will give them a broad base of knowledge.

To provide students with first-hand knowledge or educational practices.

To provide students with experiences and knowledge to meet the mid-preparation benchmark of the Missouri Standards for Teacher Education (MOStep Standards).

To form partnerships with local elementary, middle and secondary schools.

To prepare students for a smooth transition to the professional education program of any Missouri college or university.

To work with four-year colleges and universities to ensure two-plus-two programs for Three Rivers students.
