| International Student Information/Admission Requirements
International students who are requesting I-20’s for F-1 visas to study at Three Rivers Community College must fulfill the following requirements for admission to the college:
1. International Application for Admission (48k pdf) Complete an international application for admission; all areas of the application must be completed to process application for admission. Submit Application and $20 non-refundable application fee to:

2. English Proficiency If native or predominant language is not English. Student must submit TOEFL score of 500 for written or 173 for computer on the TOEFL exam. To receive information about the TOEFL visit www.ets.org.
* In the case of transfer students, passing grades in English, as a foreign language course or composition and Rhetoric are acceptable.
3. Official Transcripts of secondary school credits showing that requirements for graduation have been met.
4. Submit official transcript(s) from all colleges and universities attended. Such transcripts must be translated into English accompanied by the grading system used.
5. Certification of Finances Applicants must submit a financial statement which certifies that they have adequate funds to carry them under normal conditions through their course of study without financial assistance. This form must be notarized and completed within the last four months.
6. Transfer students Students transferring from a US College or University must request the I-20 to be transferred to the Three Rivers Community College in Poplar Bluff, MO.
7. Acceptance When the above admission requirements are met, the International Coordinator will review the file, send a letter of acceptance and issue and sign an I-20 form.

FREQUENTLY ASKED INTERNATIONAL QUESTIONS
1. What do I need to academically maintain every semester to remain at TRCC?
Once enrolled, a student on an F-1 visa must:
a. Complete a minimum of 12 credit hours per semester (only 3 hours on-line) b. Maintain a cumulative grade point average of 2.0 above c. Complete an associate degree in not more than six semesters, excluding summer.
2. Can I work while attending TRCC?
International students are not eligible for federal aid. A student must not plan on working to help defray the cost of attending college. According to immigration regulations, anyone who enters the United States on a student visa must not accept part-time work off campus employment for the first year of US residence.
3. Who is my main contact at Three Rivers?
The Director of Admissions and Recruitment is also the International Coordinator. You must remain in contact her for the following:
a. Check-in upon initial arrival and submit: Visa, Passport, and I-20. b. Meet every semester for advising and registration c. Contact her upon any change of address, change of major, change of academic status, and travel plans outside of Missouri.
4. How do I transfer to another college or university?
You will need to contact the international coordinator at the school that you are planning on attending to learn about admission criteria for the school in question. Once you have been admitted to the college you will need to submit in writing to the TRCC Director of Admissions/International Coordinator to transfer your I-20.
