TRCC ANNOUNCES
CONTINUING EDUCATION COURSES


POPLAR BLUFF, Mo. -  Three Rivers Community College is accepting registration for two new continuing education courses to be offered this spring.
 
 The course Planning for Retirement: Real World Issues and Strategies is a four-week course designed to help individuals think about and begin planning for retirement. Students will learn about the history and choices of retirement, the elements and considerations to make in saving for retirement, monitoring expenses and savings, and living in retirement.
 
 Financial services professional Nancy Stack Abernathy will be the instructor for Planning for Retirement. The class will meet from 6:30-8:30 p.m. on Tuesdays from May 13-June 3 in Room 104 of the Porter Distance Learning Center on the TRCC campus. The cost of the course is $25, which includes the price of the course textbook.
 
 A course to help students learn the popular computer program Microsoft Office 2007 will be held for six weeks beginning May 8. Microsoft Office 2007 Quick Start will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Thursdays from May 8-June 12 in Room 214 of the Porter Distance Learning Center on the TRCC campus. Instructor will be Debbie Lathum.  
 
 Students will learn about the most important features of Microsoft Office 2007. No prior computer experience is necessary, and students will become acquainted with programs such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access. The overall purpose of the course is to provide a focused introduction to Microsoft Office 2007.
 
 The cost of the course is $46 and there is no textbook required. However, students will be required to have a USB memory stick, and pocket folders for lab assignments. A pencil or pen and a highlighter are also recommended.
