THREE RIVERS FACULTY AND STAFF PREPARE FOR NEW SEMESTER; EMPLOYEES HONORED FOR SERVICE

POPLAR BLUFF, Mo. – The new academic year received a ‘jump start’ recently as the Three Rivers Community College faculty and staff gathered for a full day of meetings and workshops in preparation for the Fall 2008 semester.
Faculty and staff received progress reports from Three Rivers Interim President Joe Rozman, Executive Vice President Larry Kimbrow and Vice President for Administration and Governmental Affairs Robbie Myers. In addition, a progress report on campus security projects was given by Todd Weimer, coordinator of Distance Learning Services, who was appointed earlier this year to coordinate the college’s security enhancement projects.
Weimer announced that a new emergency telephone system would be installed on campus this fall. The system will include specially designed phone units that will be strategically placed on campus. Three of the new emergency telephone units will be installed and activated this fall and other units may be installed in the future. Additional security enhancements, including cameras on campus, will also be installed in the near future.
“We are excited about the upcoming academic year and are looking forward to continued growth and improvements throughout the college,” Rozman said. Rozman also announced the formation of a faculty, staff and administration committee to continue work on improving the college’s security systems. “In light of events in recent years, this is a real priority for safety and security of Three Rivers’ students and the faculty and staff.”
