WHERE CAN I FIND INFORMATION ABOUT JOBS? (840-9608) The Placement Office, located in the Bess Student Center, maintains updated listings of employment opportunities, both entry-level and professional. These positions may be full or part-time and are usually located within the college service area. “Job Openings” are posted on the campus bulletin boards by employer requests. For additional information and a referral stop by the Placement Office between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. and ask to view the Job Listings Referral Book.
ARE THERE OTHER TYPES OF JOB PLACEMENT ASSISTANCE?
Placement Registration File Students who have marketable skills or who are graduating may prepare resumes for the Placement Registration file. Resumes within the file will be forwarded to employers upon their request. After reviewing the file employers may directly contact students for an interview. Students who wish to utilize this service should stop by the Placement Office for additional information.
On-Campus Interviews Businesses occasionally conduct employment interviews on the TRCC campus. Notices of these interviews will be posted on campus bulletin boards. Interested students need to contact the Placement Office to schedule an interview appointment.
WHAT OTHER SERVICES ARE OFFERED BY THE PLACEMENT OFFICE?
Pre-Employment Skills Workshops The Placement Office provides pre-employment skills workshops on resume preparation, interview techniques, and job search strategies periodically throughout the year. Resumes will be critiqued upon the student’s request. Mock interviews are scheduled by appointment with the Director of Placement and Career Advising.
Career Advising The Placement Office has a variety of resources on various careers and occupational programs. Information on labor markets and employment projections are also available to assist students in the career decision-making process.
Graduate Follow-Ups The Placement Office contacts all vocational students six months after graduation to see if they obtained employment and to offer life-long placement services. Results of these surveys are published in the annual Placement Report and are available to students through the Placement Office, Student Support Services, and the Rutland Library.
