Buisness Education Course Requirements
The Business Administration degree program at Three Rivers is for students planning on completing a bachelor's degree in any business field. The coursework at Three Rivers is comparable to what students would complete in the freshman and sophomore years in a college of business at a four-year institution. There are numerous career opportunities within business and Three River courses will help you develop critical thinking skills for your career.

History
Course Requirements
History touches on all aspects of human life and society - with politics, diplomacy, war, economics, gender, race, religion, art, literature, film, music, sports and human adventure. Studying history at Three Rivers will help you develop your ability to think critically, to weigh evidence and to develop clear and concise written and oral arguments. All of these skills are essential in a number or careers and fields of study. Sir William Churchill once said, "Learn all you can about the history of the past, for how else can one even make a guess at what is going to happen in the future."

Political Science
Course Requirements
Students of political science examine the theory and real-life practice of government and politics. They acquire knowledge of political institutions and learn to think critically and objectively about public policies. Students gain and understanding and interest in political systems that can lead to a variety of careers.

Pre-Law
Course Requirements
Thee AA degree for Pre-Law is designed for students who plan to transfer to a four-year college or university to major in Pre-Law and pursue a career as an attorney, a paralegal, or in a related field such as mediation.

Pre-Social Work
Course Requirements
The Associate in Arts degree, Pre-Social Work concentration, is designed especially for students who plan to transfer to the University of Missouri-Columbia. Graduates have a desire to work within many social service settings including public, nonprofit, profit and private practice as well as private companies and corporations.

Psychology
Course Requirements
The study of psychology emphasizes the understanding of behavior - feelings, actions, thoughts. Students who study psychology learn to think critically and apply the principles of psychology to the understanding of behavior. Psychology is a diverse field of study. If the human does it or thinks it, then psychologists study it. The study of psychology helps develop critical thinking as well as interpersonal, written and oral communication and other skills.

Possible job opportunities include: social worker, community relations manager, correctional officer, drug abuse & prevention counselor, hospice health worker, human resource manager, market research analyst, motivational researcher, psychologist, psychiatric nurse, educator, or a youth services specialist.

Sociology
Course Requirements
Sociology is the study of people and societies and the way in which they shape people's behavior, beliefs and identities. Probably the most important thing about sociology is that it enables us to make sense of the rapidly changing world in which we live. Changes in our world have led to a more service-oriented workforce - a workforce that must work and compete in an ever-growing global economy. Sociology offers students vital knowledge and insights that make them valuable players in today's work world.
