Department Information

These programs are designed to prepare individuals for careers in criminal justice, law enforcement, corrections, and related careers.  Missouri law requires that all police officers and corrections officers attend a basic training academy before they start their careers.  Although TRCC does not offer academy training, we do offer you an opportunity to learn about many areas of study that are included int he academy process.  The more prepared and educated you are for academy training, the better chances you have for employment selection and promotions.  The programs are designed for career entry (Police Science and Corrections) and for transfer to baccalaureate programs (Administration of Justice).

Corrections Officers who hae completed Basic Training AND Police Officers who are POST certified, can apply for credit toward an Associated of Applied Science degree in Police Science or Corrections.

Administration of Justice

This program is designed to transfer into a bachelor's program at a 4 year university.  Graduates are awarded the Associate of Science Degree.  Employment opportunities for baccalaureate graduates include the FBI, Probation and Parole, Federal Corrections, and state/federal Conservation Department Officers, in addition to those with police science.

Criminal Justice

Graduates of the Criminal Justice Police Science or Corrections Options are awarded the Associate of Applied Science Degree.  Employment opportunities include Police Departments, Sheriff's Departments, Highway Patrol, Jails and Prisons, and Military Police or Security.
