Ruth joined the TRCC staff in August of 2005. She moved here from Texas to work in the evening R.N. program. Ms. Hutcheson began her nursing career after completing a B.S. from the University of Mississippi in 1977. In 1980 she received her advanced practice degree (M.S.N.) as a Clinical Nurse Specialist from the University of Alabama. After completing her masters, Ms. Hutcheson was given the opportunity to participate in an additional year of advanced nurse training when she was one of twelve nurses selected by the National Health Institute to participate in a national program of study designed to strenthen leadership, research and clinical skills. In addition to participating in the presentation of several local programs, Ms. Hutcheson had the opportunity to present her own research at a national research symposium. According to Ms. Hutcheson, "The best part of nursing is working with people and the best part of teaching is learning daily as you help others learn."
