Responsible for academic planning, curriculum development, program evaluation, budgeting and resource allocation ($5.1 million), staffing, course schedule monitoring, provost activities, and faculty evaluation for a full-time faculty and staff of 79 and an adjunct faculty of 120 for a community college that offers technical certificates and the Associate of Arts Degree, the Associate of Science Degree, and the Associate of Applied Science Degree in a variety of transfer and career programs.

1997-2004 - Professor of English (tenured) and Dean of Arts and Sciences - Dyersburg State Community College, Dyersburg, Tennessee 

Responsible for academic planning, curriculum development, program evaluation, budgeting and resource allocation ($2.3 million), staffing, preparation of course schedules (315 sections/semester), and faculty evaluation for a full-time faculty and staff of 49 and an adjunct faculty of 74 in a division that includes Art, Biology, Chemistry, Education, English, French, German, History, Humanities, Mathematics, Music, Philosophy, Physical Education, Physical Science, Physics, Political Science, Psychology, Sociology, Spanish, Speech, Theatre and the College Experience Program, the College Preparatory Program, and the TECTA (Tennessee Early Childhood Training Act) Program.

1991-1997 - Chairman, Fine Arts and Communications Studies Division, Midland College, Midland, Texas

Responsible for academic planning, curriculum development, program evaluation, budgeting and resource allocation ($1.3 million), staffing, preparation of course schedules (285 sections/semester), and faculty evaluation for a full-time faculty and staff of 25 and an adjunct faculty of 50 in a division that includes Art, Communications (Journalism and Photography), Dance, Drama, English, Humanities, Modern Languages, Music, Reading, and Speech.

1981-1990 - Instructor of English, Midland College, Midland, Texas

Taught 14 different English courses including first-year composition and literature, developmental English, world, Asian, American, and English literatures, technical writing, poetry writing, and short fiction writing; also taught new student orientation courses and college classics.
