Candidates for graduation must make formal application to the Registrar's Office for the degree or certificate they intend to receive (even if you do not intend to participate in the actual Commencement ceremony). Applications for December graduation are accepted March 1 though Sept. 1. Applications for May graduation are accepted Oct. 1 through Feb. 1.

Applicants should request an Application Packet when they submit their Graduation Application. Graduates are encouraged to pre-order final transcripts and indicate on the application to hold these transcripts for graduation. Post-Test Requirement

Three Rivers requires all students who will receive an associate's degree to take a post-test (exit test), the Collegiate Assessment of Academic Proficiency (CAAP).

The CAAP consists of three, 40-minute sections in writing, reading and math. The CAAP is scheduled several times throughout the year, including on Advising Days each semester.

Failure to take the CAAP test will result in a student's diploma or certificate being withheld. For additional information on the CAAP test contact the college Testing Center at 573.840.9667.

In addition, students should:

  • Verify that all high school and college transcripts are on file in the Office of Admissions.
  • Inform the Registrar of any changes in name or address.
  • Order commencement cap and gown by returning the measurement card to the Vice President for Student Affairs office.
  • Order optional commencement accessories such as invitations, rings, and other memorabilia. Contact Henry Foster, Herff Jones Representative, at 573-686-1337 or hfoster@pbmo.net.
  • Attend commencement practice. Date to be determined.
  • Pick up cap and gown. Time and place to be announced.
  • Invite family and friends to attend the special occasion.

Caps & Gowns - Students who choose to participate in the commencement ceremony should contact Student Affairs to make arrangements for cap and gown measurement. Information about graduation announcements and other accessories is also available there.

Diplomas - All academic records are evaluated before diplomas are disbursed. Diplomas are mailed to graduates from the Registrar's Office several days after the commencement ceremony is held. A copy of the student's transcript is included with each diploma.
