TRCC'S STUDENT ORGANIZATIONS HOST
OCTOBERFEST FOR KIDS OF ALL AGES
POPLAR BLUFF, Mo. - In order to provide wholesome and safe activities for area kids, Three Rivers Community College will host the second annual Octoberfest on Tuesday, Oct. 27. The fun and games will be from 3:30 - 6:30 p.m. in the Bess Student Center on the TRCC campus.
The evening's activities are sponsored by the TRCC Office of Student Activities in conjunction with the college's student organizations. The family-centered event is open to children and their families throughout the region and offers a safe environment for fun activities.
Octoberfest 2009 will feature games and activities planned by student organizations including the Marketing Management Association, the Baptist Student Union, SkillsUSA, Rivers Ridge Community Council and the TRCC Student Senate.
A new addition to Octoberfest this year is a costume contest for the youngsters. Children are invited to don their costumes and participate in this new feature. Judging for the costume contest will begin at 6:30 p.m. and children do not have to be present to win.
"The annual Octoberfest is one of the ways that the TRCC student organizations give back to our community and thank the area for its support of Three Rivers Community College," said TRCC Director of Student Activities Michelle Stewart. "We look forward to families joining us for a fun evening of activities."
The Octoberfest celebration is free and is open to the public. For additional information about TRCC's Octoberfest contact the Three Rivers Office of Student Activities at (573) 840-9106.
