The following are services provided by Student Support Services to Three Rivers students.
Summer Bridge Program
This week long program is designed to help entering/interested students meet goals that they have set for themselves. We offer advising, counseling, tutoring, and various seminars to help students. During the week, students will cover numerous subjects to enable students to be successful at Three Rivers.
Scholarships
Student Support Services offer various scholarships ranging from Student of the Month, Student of the Year, Outstanding Student Scholarship, and Transfer Scholarship. Each scholarship amount is different based on funds, number of students applying, etc.
Workshops
Student Support Services counselors offer various workshops for students that cover areas such as Test Taking, Money Management, Advising, and Discovering a major. All workshops are designed to enable students to better matriculate through the college environment and to be successful in life.
Educational and Personal Counseling
Students work with their personal academic counselor within Student Support Services to help develop both short range and long range academic and career goals.
Cultural Enrichment Activities
Student Support Services offers a limited number of co-curricula events and activities such as trips, plays, lectures, musicals, and museum exploration designed to increase cultural awareness within our students.
Mid Semester Grade Evaluations
Faculty are encouraged to complete mid-semester progress reports for Student Support Services students every semester. Students who are documented as having academic difficulties will meet with their SSS counselor to identify and implement appropriate interventions to increase academic success.
Transfer Trips
Each semester, SSS members will take trips to area colleges and universities to implement a transfer plan for interested students. We will link students to their desired major/department, explore the campus, and meet other SSS personnel on each campus.
Peer Mentors
First year SSS members will be paired with an SSS "veteran" to help navigate them through the rigors of higher education. Peer mentors will routinely check in with their "mentees" and ascertain any needs or wants related to academic and social success at Three Rivers.
Supplemental Grant Aid
SSS students, who meet financial eligibility requirements, may receive grant award monies during their first two years enrolled at Three Rivers. More information may be obtained in the SSS office.
Lap Top Loans
A limited number of lap tops are available for a week long loan period for SSS students. Please come by the SSS office to obtain further information.
