Operation Winterbird Procedures
College closing procedures
Three Rivers Community College is ready to alert employees, students and others about college closings with Operation Winterbird, the procedure that will be followed should weather conditions warrant closing the college.
Dr. Devin Stephenson, Three Rivers' President, will make the decision to close the college, and will do so by 5 a.m. or as early in the day as possible.
If the college is to close, the following will be used to notify students/college employees:
- A notice about the closing on the Three Rivers home page at www.trcc.edu
- An “all student” e-mail
- An “everyone” e-mail to college employees
- An e-mail to the Director of Housing to notify Rivers Ridge residents
- A greeting on the college telephone system that says the college is closed; 573-840-9600 or 1-877-879-8722
- Notices on area TV and radio stations (see below)
- A notice about the closing on TRCC’s Twitter and Facebook pages.
If the college closes due to inclement weather, the President will continue to monitor weather conditions throughout the day to make a determination on closing a second day. The above notices will be updated if needed.
